I pull freight for amazon. They are switching to third party (intelcom and dragon fly) because it's cheaper. On our side it's better, a lot of those warehouses were BS to deliver to. I'm guessing walmart wants to do the same.

I’ve only been to one Amazon warehouse the one on passmore in Scarborough and what a sh$t show that was . I went to pick up recycled cardboard i believe that was going to Cornwall . I get there back into my assigned door then go to the nearest man door and wait for like 40min . First i had to either wait for shift change or break to be over . After waiting for what felt like ever, i go over to the lunch room/ shipping get on the radio and ask for someone. A guy comes over i give the info on my pick up and a course he has no clue . He says give me a minute and has to talk to his supervisor . His supervisor is trying to get hold of the right person on the phone/email but with no answer. i ending up doing a whole shift there before i had enough and told dispatch i’m running out of hours and have to leave . They never did figure out where my load was , all they said is usually the pick up is during the day shift and they didn’t know anything about my load
Another guy went months later and got the same run aroundMagoo1968, Canadianhauler21, BigHossVolvo and 1 other person Thank this. -
I could write a novel, with all this talk about Loblaws, Amazon and Canada Garbage, but then the voices would win lol.
All of this is 100% true, for anyone reading.Canadianhauler21 Thanks this. -
Fun fact about that, when Lineage bought Versacold, one of the stipulations, was they would NOT take CPX lol. I bet Canada Cartage got them cheap, cause they prob the biggest disaster in reefer there is.Albertaflatbed and Canadianhauler21 Thank this.

I can understand if walmart wants to get out of having a private fleet to save cost . I don’t understand why you would put all your eggs in one basket/company through . What happens when Canada cartage can’t meet walmarts expectations which will most likely happen. Then what ,especially since walmart sold their fleet to Canada cartage and they didn’t just outsource to a bunch of 3rd party carriers like loblaws . metro at one time only used wilson ,now they have given like half the work to other carriers because they got tired of the union strikes with wilsonLast edited: Feb 1, 2025
