Tariff war and it's impact on trucking

This whole thread feels like a trap.

We are living through interesting times...

 

Well, at 70, I can say, we've always had "interesting times". Look at Clintons shenanigans, or Carter, or may I remind you what happened on Bush Jrs watch. Our system has always attracted shysters, and today is no different, except for the magnitude of the scale. Until we get away from the archaic 2 party system, it's always going to be "us vs. them", and will continue to divide our country even more.

 

Seems like they are having the desired effect though, at least for now.

I could probably make a less-than-intellectual case on both sides of this issue, but the current theme appears to be to maybe try and do some #### thing to curb the deficit. I'm sure there will be some collateral damage, but the waste that is finally being exposed and terminated, while a drop in the bucket, seems to be a step in the right direction to me. If tariffs or the threat of tariffs might help this endeavor I'm happy to wait and see what happens.

 

Folks, this is politics. Whether you're on Team Orange Man or despise him with all your soul, the fact remains that there's gonna be a whole lot of bluffing, headfaking and "sound and fury, signifying nothing" as well as a whole mess of stuff going on behind the scenes that we may never know about. I urge y'all not to panic...wait a few days for the dust to settle and see how it all shakes out.

 

Maybe they are broke because they didn’t sacrifice enough?
