The entire stretch of 80 from the NJ line to the OH line looks like this all year round. The Winter is when it's the worst though.

Whole new meaning , Amazon ground , your package has spent 20hrs on the ground by the highway in a ditch .

I wonder if the money they save outsourcing their trucking and not having any standards or accountability is worth the damage to their image/brand not to mention trucks being somewhat of an unreliable part of their supply chain?

Being as Amazon continues to do so without a care in the world, I would say that answer is an emphatic and enthusiastic "Yes".Last edited: Feb 8, 2025

I don't agree because if that were the case nobody would have an in-house fleet. Look it's a whole load of cheap junk in the ditch with impatient customers waiting on that stuff another day and some of them pay for Prime membership. Then everybody driving by that mess on the highway see's another Amazon rolling billboard crumpled up on the side of the road. The title of this thread tells you what drivers already think.Last edited: Feb 7, 2025

Personally don't think if they had in-house Amazon trucks, things would be much different.
Maybe if they paid top tier Walmart or UPS type wages with actual ( or some ) standards... Don't ever see that happening though.
We all see the Wrecks/Carnegie they create just because we are in the same job field and keep up with the industry news. Most common folks will never see or hear about these accidents.
Even if so, people have become so addicted and can't do without buying something from Amazon to get the most out of their Prime account with free shipping, it wouldn't matter.
The phrase that holds true and I agree is, Amazon is taking over the world... it's reality.
I'd be truly interested to see the true accident/death numbers from accidents involving independent companies contracted with Amazon. Those numbers have to be truly mind blowing, and scary.D.Tibbitt, gentleroger, Iamoverit and 2 others Thank this.
