Short answer, yes. Long answer ask them, they likely need to add you to insurance if they allow you in the rig at all. Also depends on their customer policys as well.
-
Well my plan is to rent box trucks and operate under my own insurance. How will that go? Would shippers still care if I’m a ride along passenger??
-
There is a lot of unanswered questions involved, the first is does your insurance company have a rider and why are you not buying box trucks.
-
I’m planning on financing a box truck later in the coming months but yeah my wife will be the insured rider. But my driving record isn’t too good I just wanted to be a ride along passenger. The shippers won’t care if I’m a ride along passenger u think?
-
Most companies don't care if a passenger is on the truck.
The companies that do care are hazmat company accounts or tanker company accounts or department of defense accounts companies.tscottme Thanks this. -
Interesting ok

If you buy a box truck, make sure it's dock height. A used U-haul truck won't work.

I’m just worried about getting I.d ran as a passenger and see my driver record is screwed and deny the load and I ruin the company
