I agree with you and I have considered that. I do worry about it to be honest, but I was thinking as we grow and get to the point where we can offer fuel services maybe we can reach out to some of these large carries and establish relationships with them. You know like how fleet owners will pay to reserve spots for their fleets?

Note also that (I'm guessing you are very likely to be too young to remember this)....back in the 1950s & 60s...a hotel/restaurant chain called "Howard Johnson's" had a similar business model....offering home-style, comfort foods in their restaurant menus -- but they have of course pretty much gone out of business.

I mention them strictly because....it might be worth your time to research what they did wrong and/or what happened...to precipitate their demise...& thus avoid a similar fate/series of mistakes.

Thinking outside the box! I think you just might be able to make this happen.

Thank you! I also just found this out :)

Yes, small, independently owned truck stops can partner with Pilot to sell their fuel while maintaining their independent status by joining Pilot's fuel network, which allows them to access Pilot's branding, loyalty programs, and fuel supply without fully integrating into the company as a franchise or subsidiary; essentially, they can sell Pilot fuel under their own name and management structure.

If you get Pilot or another mega fuel contract, you will draw in the rookies that alot of drivers go to independent places to avoid.

I used to fuel and then park and eat elsewhere.

I forgot to add that your idea would have been the elsewhere I sought.

Just real food, cooked from scratch like grandma used to make and once the word got out, you’d be packed all the time. Always see out here is more and more processed junk food empty high calorie garbage thrown at us day in and day out. I cook my own food on the truck, but I’m always looking online for a place that I can park my truck and go in and have a real home-cooked meal but it’s becoming far and few between. Everybody thinks all us truckers just wanna eat, roller dogs, calzones, and pizza, put in a huge salad bar with all fresh veggies and meats and all the toppings you can think of. Throw a couple of homemade soup options at the end and watch what happens to that salad bar. Why? Because we can’t get it out here. I don’t even bother to go into most of the truckstops when I’m hungry anymore. It’s just all the same garbage.

As I am sure you know, trucking is a 24/7 industry. Nothing irritates me more than the "We Appreciate Drivers" crowd when the clock hits 7pm or the calendar flips over to the weekend and that same crowd tries to turn off all the lights and go home.

For what it's worth, when I was running for a company, I'd fuel where the company said to, but I would try my hardest to spend my snack money and do overnights in non-chain or smaller companies locations.
