It’d cost Evansville, IN a few trillion dollars to implement that tech in their 734 red lights

The prepare to stop when flashing signs are nice though. Get a few second head start for braking

I have one town I regularly go thru that finally started turn the cross walk signals to "go" (the white man) whenever the lights are green in that direction, so you can prepare to stop when you see it start flashing the red hand for 15 sec count down. Before it was horrible, especially at night because this is a small town and any car pulling up on the side street would cause the light to change immediately with about a 5 second yellow. Many "hard brake" points accrued in Motive Safety Score..... So I would love to see every intersection with either the flashing yellow "prepare to stop" signs posted before the actual light or at least the cross walks always on "walk" when green light. And would be much cheaper and less govt intrusion than linking to our elds. This town needed it..... Tons of commercial trucks going down Utah Highway 68 (the towns main drag) to 3 massive dairies, and 4 dirt and gravel or cement pits .... Almost all of us well over 100,000 GVW.
