Aren’t you from Colorado? Seems like it would be a good area for log trucks. I know in Oregon and Washington they have really taken a beating in the past year or so.

My old man had his own logging trucks up here and I spent every possible day during summer break in that truck with him. The wilderness you'd see when you're 40+ km straight into the bush and up a mountain is incredible.

Judging from the equipment I see hauling around the house would confirm the junk rates. About the only ones with decent looking equipment here are the loggers. I'm in Arkansas @Rugerfan

@tramm01, Driving along the Malheur just east of Juntura, saw several groups of winged devils in spots where the canyon walls were close to the road, then California quail all over the valley floor where it opens up a bit. How's those pups doin?

Another nice day. If I could keep the other guy off the road, I'd run this all winter.

i have a question for all . Do you lock a diff on a drive axle or both on slick compacted snow or let the snow tires / chains do the work

I run interlock and save full lockers for when things get hairy. It's always been my opinion that a locked diff breaks traction to the downhill side rapidly and sometimes unexpectedly, so I try not to run lockers unless I'm getting out of a bad spot.

Most of the iron out my way these days are tridrives and you pretty much need the power dividers locked in whenever you're not driving on dry pavement with one of those. Diff locks on/off as required because its pretty hard to steer with 3 axles trying to push you forwards.
