Savannah is the least of my business. lol. Been home the last 10 days taking care of real estate and other issues. Heading back to the truck this afternoon. Found out that I am now assigned to a dedicated Am Linehaul route out of Savannah to Orlando and back. 560 miles round trip. Leave at 0600 and back at 1700ish. I have done this run numerous times since getting here on the extra board, now’s it’s permanent. It’s actually a really easy deal. Miss all traffic going and heading back. Most of the time I just hook an empty and go back. The nice part is this run is set up for a 53’ not a set of doubles.
On the personal front, Mrs Johnboy and I are busy busy with the end of being involved with the work sector part of life and getting our golden years in place. More news to come.dwells40, Finfn1372, 4mer trucker and 14 others Thank this. -

If you don't mind me asking, how do you keep from going nuts? I've been off the road for 16 months, and am jonesin to head back out. I don't stay busy enough, especially in the winter. Doing a little bit of farming this year, but all of a sudden I'm not interested. Just want to drive again. My wife is joining me in that it drives her crazy too.surf_avenue, Finfn1372, MidWest_MacDaddy and 5 others Thank this.

Well to be honest it hasn't been all unicorns and rainbows. One of the reasons I finally retired was health issues. I had severe bone spurs in my shoulders. When I retired I could hardly raise my left arm. So I was home for awhile and finally had my left shoulder replaced. The surgery went longer than expected and I had a very hard and slow recovery. That took up most of the first year, 2023. Then in early 2024 I was finally released from physical therapy. In April my feet and legs started swelling up. I developed a severe case of Edema and something else I can't pronounce. Then they started weeping and a hole the size of a half dollar developed in my left leg. I was in Wound Care for 8 months and have been on Lasix ever since. I wasn't able to wear shoes and walking became tiresome. Then in November the swelling had gone down far enough that my doctors decided to ultrasound the lower half of my body. They found arterial blockages and I underwent a procedure to place 4 stents in the arteries that provide blood flow to my legs and feet. That procedure helped quite a bit until last month when I began retaining and leaking fluid again. So tomorrow I am having another procedure to super glue some of my leg veins shut. The blood is supposed to flow one way but in some of mine it is trying to either come back up or go back down. Left leg tomorrow and the right in three weeks. This is all they can do for me now. So I am praying that it works. I have been house bound most of last year and now since say January. I can get around the house ok but anything farther than the front sidewalk is iffy at best. I only leave the house for medical appointments and go to church on the Sundays I feel I can make it inside. I haven't given up on God and I pray he hasn't given up on me.
I haven't mentioned it because I figured you guys didn't want to hear of my troubles, but since you asked I thought you deserved the truth.
I am hoping to be mobile enough by May to take a trip to SoCal to see our two sons that live there. We haven't seen them in 5 years.surf_avenue, dwells40, hope not dumb twucker and 16 others Thank this. -
Open mouth, insert foot. And here I thought not being able to take a normal crap was bad.
