I don't care about the deletes and I don't care about the subsidies to the auto makers. Just reining in California's ability to dictate national emissions policy makes it a must pass measure. Auto makers build to CARB requirements because California is their biggest market. The rest of us just have to put up with it.

For anyone who doesn't know, the EPA act grants the federal government exclusive authority to regulate pollution. Except California was exempted from the act because they already had their own agency. That is why CARB exists and it shouldn't. There is only one sky.

Why can’t they just reign in Cali and relax emission regs without giving a huge kickback to the auto industry?

I think they are giving kickbacks to the auto makers to keep them afloat in the long term because without all the carb mandated emissions crap the car should honestly sell for half or a third of what they charge for them now.

Don’t know what legal deletes have to do with old timers coming back in to drive. There are still thousands of old timers driving trucks that never needed deletes in the first place. We kept our old stuff for many, many reasons and giving the middle finger to the goobment was one of them.

I was being grossly sarcastic lol. The driver shortage is probably only applicable to megas, and companies with mega capabilities. As I've said in the past, it depends on who you ask. The aforementioned group will say there's a shortage because they can't keep their trucks filled to run their contract freight. The other 90 percent of the industry will say there's no shortage. They operate in spot market world. Trucking is made up of 2 different worlds. Me personally, I think some sectors of trucking are over saturated, and others not so much. Van and reefer is probably overfilled. Flatbed, tankers, hazmat, specialized hauling of any kind, probably not so much.

Going back to the original topic, you'll get an influx of old iron or newer trucks deleted. Deleting trucks isn't always good for them,in fact, some will end up in the shop very shortly after delete. Maybe it won't be thus big influx. Even without the exhaust system, it's still more expensive than ever to maintain a truck.

I just think it should be illegal for the government to tell you what you can and can't do to your equipment that you paid 6 figures for...especially when they know dam well how many people have problems with the emissions crap

I am curious, has anybody ever broken the seal on a trailer of an ###### driver that has done this? I threatened to once, but the middle eastern guy finally moved out of the dang way so I could get fuel and leave.

It ain't even worth it . It is so widespread now. . it's just sad to see what's happening... I've had my fair share of blowups towards these ######## drivers that do that stuff and I thought if I don't get a handle I'd have a heart attack before the age of 30... plus u get mad at 1 guy and there is 10 others next to him doing the same thing

I suppose you're right. I worry more about getting shot myself. It sure is amazing though pulling up to a Pilot and seeing "10 pumps idle" in the app yet no pump is open because a truck is blocking it not even getting fuel.
