So finally got my '84 359 out of the shop! After new fuel lines, fuel filters, AFC diagram, governor assembly, timing advance, bypassing the fuel cutoff solenoid, swapping tires and wheels, front wheel bearings and front drums and shoes, what it ended up being was the driveline between the carrier bearing and the axle had two bad yokes and u joints causing a very bad vibration. In addition to that the ride height control valve would not exhaust at all causing the suspension to be almost solid with no give. So the combination of the driveline vibration and no suspension was causing the truck to surge, vibrate and shake. Learn something new every day!

The tell tale sign in my opinion is the scoring is worse in the bottom. Foundation is key especially with a hot rod in my opinion. -

Never made a racket he said lol. Spicer rear end. It’s afternoon on Saturday and I’m closing the door. The bad thing about working behind the house out in the sands. But it’s the neat thing as well. I can’t wait for farm season
