Truck paper is inflated at the best of times. Quite heavily in a lot of instances. For example my lonestar was listed at 68k. Its in very good shape overall outside very minor cosmetic defects, had ALL the maintaince records down to windshield wiper blades and while it does have high hours its mechanically sound and well eithin what i would expect for a PTO truck. It has a highly deseriable spec loadout for my specific branch of the industry. And it came with a better transferable warranty then yours.
I was still able to talk them down to 60k and they further gave me a steep discount on all repairs at time of purchase. Basically they charged me their price on parts and 1/4th rate for labor. So i got almost 20k in repairs done for 8k. And this truck dispite being in tip top mechanical shape. A highly sought after spec loadout and at a lower then average price. STILL sat there for an entire year and i literally had HUNDREDS to choose from with many dealers willing to sell me their used trucks at break even prices just to get rid of the #### things.
I also saw many other more beat up or less solid rigs with simular specs for 40 to 50k with lower hours and miles. And i could have gone to the auction and gotten one in the 30 to 40k range with no effort. And this is for heavily specialized and thus considerably more expensive and less common equipment.
Your truck without photos seems ill cared for. Has a warranty where it doesnt cover whats broken apparently, otherwise you would have fixed it. Is a very generally avalible rig with i am betting cookie cutter specs. There are many other simular style of truck in diffrent brands with simular specs you gotta compete against as well. Which btw is a thing your not considering.
If if i can buy a truck with a simular setup but irs a pete or volvo and its got less hours, more paperwork, and in better condition. Why would i even look at yours? Im a business. Your truck is a tool. I am only going to give what i must give for a tool regardless of who makes it. And i have THOUSANDS of options. Many with less miles and hours. What makes yours special to me? No seriously consider that. Pretend i am a customer. You want to sell me YOUR truck and you need to convince me to not walk away for a better deal.
As a customer i am going to look at your rig. What i am going to see is the INSANELY high hours for a standard road truck. Something that to me would indicate the APU is either broken or has a LOT of issues and is not reliable. There are check engine lights and a warranty. If there is a warranty why arent those fixed? I gotta assume its a major and thus EXPENSIVE issue(s). You have not said what if any paperwork comes with it. Sorry to say mate. If i was buying i would look at your truck then at auctions and tell you 15k at auction is generious. So i as a private buyer MIGHT give more but that is at best a 20k rig and has a LOT of risk attached unless i plan to esenstially scrap it for parts. Even if you fixed it up. Id look at all the recent work and be leery of why your suddenly selling a truck you dropped 10s of thousands on.
Ridge and long have the right of it. Your rig is simply not worth that much money. There are too many risks. Its in too poor of shape. And has to many indicators of being ill cared for regardless of if you treated it like your child or a company driver who hated his job. As a customer. I dont care. Im going to look at it as presented. The the picture your showing me is not one i like. So i would lowball you at best.
If you can find a sucker or someone who needs your rig in specific enough to offer 30k take the deal and run. Otherwise your going to be sitting on that rig for a long time.DAX_, Albertaflatbed, Rideandrepair and 4 others Thank this. -

The 126 is the lowest value because it is the most numerous one made, fleet special and more likely what you have. There is maybe, MAYBE a 5% difference between all of them for that year but overall the market value is what drives all of this and the value is derive by the sold price, not the asking price.DAX_, Rideandrepair, blairandgretchen and 4 others Thank this. -

Let us not forget. If I’m in the market for the type of truck you’re selling I’m going to a dealer to purchase. Not some random trucker. Dealer can help me with financing options, trade in, repairs and they have a reputation to uphold. You’re asking top level retail price and then going to meet some other trucker in a truckstop to swap $45k? Don’t think so? Good luck with your sale? Come on back and let us know how it works out? Maybe you can prove us all wrong?
My guess is your going to give it back to the bank and take the credit hit?
Good job asking for for peoples opinions on the internet then telling them how stupid they are! You’re my hero!!!Last edited: Mar 10, 2025
