Back in 2012 when I started running out west I was super excited to stop and get a pic of my truck under the sign. I was surprised at how much of a dump it was. Last time I stopped there was back in 2021 and man it was a sorry place. Typical of a “famous” spot that didn’t seem to put any money back into their place.

I don’t mean to sound so negative about an iconic place like that, but the story says they’re hoping to find a buyer who will focus on maintenance so that should say what kind of shape the place is in.

I fully agree. Last time I was there was in 2018. It was a dump then (that’s me being nice). It’s too bad a bunch of drivers can’t pool resources to buy it and fix it.Deere hunter, Studebaker Hawk, The_vett and 2 others Thank this.

Dang I've always wanted a truck pic under the sign. Guess I'll have to stop and get one before it's gone forever

It's probably a lot moar coin than The OM and I have.
They've chopped it up too, the property, the convenience store and gas station look like they got bought by someone with buses.
The waitresses were mean. And they just kind of let it all go hell.
Last two times we were there, there was no coffee.
They signed on as an AmBest.

In the early 90's they had chrome shining crew that polished wheels & tanks by hand. No power tools just a couple of rags, polish, and plenty of High-Speed Chicken Feed.

Not sure they ever really moved past that.Flat Earth Trucker, wulfman75 and Rugerfan Thank this.
