Found this YouTube video that shows two foreign workers who are working for Big Freight, one of them is brand new, getting orientated. If any new or experienced drivers cant get a job, thank these companies who continue to hire foreign drivers despite major unemployment of Canadian drivers

In Ontario it take 2 years for person to have no restrictions driving a CAR.. its a probation system.
Seems these foreigners are allowed to skip that process and get their AZ,,,and it shows. Constant closures due to collisions. The provincial govt just passed ruling no more AZ issued to foreigners on visitor visa..

The company i work for tried bringing in foreign workers from india . I spoke to one guy who had an electrical engineering degree but couldn’t use it here . The company helped get him over here and get him his citizenship. he went from otr company driver, then local driver then owner op . He thought he would make lots of money to buy a house . Last time i talked to him he wants to sell the truck because he’s tried of spending so much money but had over 1.2 million km and owed more then it’s worth. the idiot bought a 2018 freightliner with over 700.000km for like $110k with like a 12% interest rate and put down 10-12k back during covid times

So many of these new canadians quit because they’re always chasing the dollar that now you have to sign a agreement to stay 3 months or pay back $700 for drug/medical test

Want to hear how messed up BC is? I went in to get my Class 3 when I turned 18. They told me I had to have a full Class 5 first. I said how is that possible, the probationary stage is 3 years to get a full Class 5 and you can't get your learners until you're 16. They said it's for people moving from another province where they would have a Class 5 at 18. So I moved out of there and got my Class 1 instead lol.

In many of the countries we are getting these drivers from have no distinction between a license for a bike/scooter and a car thats how they get their full G when they arrive without ever driving a car before then can get their A or D

Yah, I always wondered this. How is it that companies say you need 2 years experience, yet all these immigrants from India have taken over the trucking industry in Canada. How does that work?

Plus, some will say to get experience get a local job, but then local jobs will say get experience by doing OTR -- there is no standard and people just pull excuses out of their ##### to justify screwing over Canadians.

Companies will hire whoever can pass a road test without hitting anything. I know for fact guy who road testing drivers out of Thunder Bay On 3 years ago for Gardewine was told to lower his standards so the applicants could pass the company test…
And a few years before that fellow Ive know forever was training drivers at Pauls Hauling, they all passed company training..as he put it “they hiring people who have no business behind the wheel”

So now that I get to deal with insurance directly, at my little dump truck outfit. Basically 3 things are happening when it comes to foreign "Experience" lol #1) They have someone create a company or they find one of these companies that already exists, and that company writes them a bogus experience letter, that allows them to get insurance. #2) They work for what we call a "Truck Tsar" basically a guy, who setup a company 15-20 years ago, got an insurance rating, went over 11 trucks, got fleet insurance, and is able to swap drivers around without anyone noticing. If he gets caught rolling a zero experience driver he doesn't' report to the insurance, he only has to pay the difference in the premiums vs what he actually paid. A lot of the foreigner companies operate under one of these Tsar's authority and insurance, but pay a heft premium to the Tsar for the privilege. The name and MC/DOT numbers you see on their doors, are trade names they operate under. #3) They just roll with phony insurance/plates or none at all. I've been witness to trucks getting pulled into scales, no insurance, no reg, no authority. Truck has decals on it, and some ones plates (stolen or 3D printed, or they were on the truck when they bought it) and often times, no valid class 1 license (Phony, Someone else's, Someone else's that's expired).

Its honestly shocking how bad its gotten, and dump is heading the same direction as freight.
