They make you pay over $600 a week for trailer rent, force you to buy the truck and lease it and pay all fuel and repairs then take all the money out in one check if you got bills for repairs and other things so your checks are low then make you dead head 20 to 1000 miles to get loads they also make you run with zero sleep most the time. They don't answer phone or let give you time off if burnt out.

They can't make you do anything. They absolutely cannot make you run illegal hours.
What does your contract say?
Are you still working there?FullMetalJacket, TurkeyCreekJackJohnson, mjd4277 and 3 others Thank this. -

There are more holes in this story than Swiss Cheese. I'd love for a company the even attempt to push that malarkey on me. If I don't want to buy your truck and trailer, you ###### well can't make me. The last "company" that charged me for anything, I quit. My friend wants me to come back, but I'm happy being home every day and not trapped in the middle of West Virginia again. Tell me I can't take home time once, and I'm parking your truck back at the terminal and flying home. That's where an emergency fund comes into play. I had enough to buy my plane ticket, pay baggage fees and grab an Uber to the airport. I even had enough for the overpriced breakfast at the O'Haire airport before taking off. Running off of zero sleep? Well, I'm getting that in writing and showing it to DOT.
How were we thinking the same thing?FullMetalJacket, TurkeyCreekJackJohnson and mjd4277 Thank this. -

When I went through it with the ####cago company that I was with, I was constantly looking. I was one of the those drivers in the sunrise of my career and like this driver, I had to learn the hard way. When I went into other jobs, I had my eyes wide open for anything and everything. After being scammed one time, I left. My friend and he co-owner of the aforementioned company, claim to have done a hostile takeover. I sure as hell am NOT going back to find out. One time was punishment enough. I wish any driver going through this a speedy way out of companies like this. No sir, I wasn't crapping on this driver. The "holes" I'm talking about are their policies.FullMetalJacket and hopping Thank this.

There seems to be a never ending supply of dumb and inexperienced drivers. Also, a never ending supply of sleazoid companies that will take cruel advantage of them.
