Mine doesnt burn any either. Its 5 years old now, and only 260k miles on it. But I learned at a very young age the best mechanic in the world is frequent oil changes.. Not counting 2 used beaters I had in high school (one was 12 years old when I got it), Ive only owned 4 cars in my life. A 75 Maverick (11 years), an 86 T Bird (11 years), a 97 T Bird (17 years), and a 14 Mustang (11 years and counting)... Never done anything to any of these other than routine oil and tire changes (and brakes of course)..

Great idea, but I have no intention of driving to Iowa. I’m strictly east of the Mississippi. And since I’ve discovered they don’t do maintenance at there facilities, going to a terminal would be a waste of time.

I DM'd you the email address of a Heartland driver that can give you the straight scoop on the current maintenance schedule.Knucklehead Thanks this.

Hello, Heartland driver here(well, CFI, but under the Heartland Umbrella). We do our PMs every 25-30K miles. Also, like others have said, when we hit any of our major yards(Joplin, Alvarado, Iowa City, Mt.Juliet, etc.), we are required to go through the inspection bay. There, if we have had things come up while on the road, they can be addressed pretty quickly. This is also where they do a full walk around of truck(and trailer, if attached to one), and make note of any issues THEY spot. If there is any issues, they will send you with a fast-pass to the shop, to basically be prioritized for repairs or whatever the issue is.Knucklehead, silverspur, hope not dumb twucker and 1 other person Thank this.

We don't have the inspection bays at Heartland, nor do any of the driver really want them. The shop will take care any of my issues right away if I go thru a yard. It's not an umbrella, Heartland Express owns CFI lock stock and barrel.
