Not a question but more a heads up for the new drivers.

When talking with recruiters even if they turn you down be polite and respectful. I tried very hard to do this when I was searching 4 months ago. A couple days ago got a random message on driver pulse / Tenstreet from Ozark Motor Lines.

Recruiter said if I had at least 3 months solo OTR they could offer me 0.59 CPM which would be a nice bump from the 0.40 Western Express is paying. I had to decline due to their pet policy of 1 under 50 pounds. I have 1 45 pounder and 1 15 pounder.

Debatable if the 19 cent bump would still be as interesting in a other 3 to 9 months when other carriers might be interested.

I would ask if they would waive the restriction. If they are desperate enough to call you after 4 months, they probably would be willing...

    Cant hurt to ask.

True never hurts to ask. I did, they said no exceptions. Although recruiters often lie just to get the position filled so if she said yes I would still be unsure.

They might ask for vet records to verify weight and vaccination for liability.

Camera would rat me out for 2, one over the limit.

    Magnum allows 2 dogs.
Lots of North Carolina drivers work there.

Good for you. I'm a pet person also. Companies often consider a violation of their pet policy of same weight as unauthorized passenger. You do not want to risk being fired on the spot 5 states from home and getting home with no notice with your pets. NEVER consider violating pet policy. And NEVER take seeing a pet in some company's truck as the company having an agreeable pet policy. They may be sneaking a pet. My favorite company where I worked for a long time, and which had a ZERO pets policy, was often reported to allow pets "I saw a dog in an Averitt truck last week with my own eyes."

Ozark gives me the vibe of a company that draws a hard line on policies. If drivers have skeletons in their closet, don't even look their way. Don't ask me how I know lol.

you usually have to show updated shot records so yeah they'd probably see the weight on them.
