Alternate headline -
"Test that has been given 6 times shows drop in scores."
Too much is made of the PISA test. 700k students take it every three years. It can be used to compare educational systems - to a point. It doesn't show growth patterns, and it hasn't been used long enough to show any real patterns.
Rideandrepair, hope not dumb twucker and cuzzin it Thank this. -
Being one of the Lizard people. I’m not surprised.hope not dumb twucker and ElmerFudpucker Thank this.

The extreme is what gets the most interest in our society. Even better if it is infuriating. So, in my view, we are more aware of the idiots.
The quiet smart ones just go about their day without raising an eyebrow.Rideandrepair, FearTheCorn, hope not dumb twucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
“It” As we call, it is a computing and intelligent system that is able to teach itself, thinks for itself, and has a compound learning affect. Meaning, there is no limitation on the knowledge that the systems will be able to Garner. I’ll give you an example. They already say in a few years things like pharmaceutical research will be obsolete or needed. No more long term research and development. You’ll be able to present any potential scenario requiring a developed medication, and these systems will be able to compute and figure and spit out a solution instantaneously. These things will be able to build their own facilities to build more of themselves, i.e. robots. Imagine a robot with a quantum computing capability. It will be smarter than you, smarter than all humans combined, stronger than you, faster than you, be able to reason, and think for itself. People say oh it all comes down to how it’s programmed. Not once it reaches singularity. It will be able to do anything. That’s ONE example.
experts have already said as many as 70% of all jobs done by humans will be able to be done by robotics or computing systems, and that’s just within the next decade. People who do computer programming, software development are already becoming obsolete, because the self thinking computing systems can do in seconds, what used to take them years. Just five years ago, these were futuristic jobs that a young person who is intelligent would seek out and go into an high-paying. Almost overnight they’re going to be unneeded. You need to think in terms of the compound effect of that. Intelligence builds on itself. There is no limit.
they are also in the beginning stages of developing what they call Atom computing systems. And I don’t even think the human mind can comprehend if they develop that what they will be capable of doing. We are entering a completely new way of life on this earth, whether we are ready for it or like it or not, it is coming. Humans will likely either ultimately be integrated with AI or moved to the side. Sad and sick but true. Most experts, think there will come a day in the not too distant future, where we are governed by the systems, because they will basically be able to problem solve any and all world problems rather quickly and efficiently. Human life on this earth HAS changed we just don’t realize it now. Revenge of the nerds as they say. lol it’s finally coming true. Even the developers who develop these systems are in awe and somewhat fearful of their near term capabilities and unsure, “if it’s a good idea or not” Musk, arguably someone who holds the most intimate knowledge into these things, is also fearful of it. He says all the time that we really probably don’t realize the Pandora’s box that we are opening.
they’ll tease us with many good things and developments and people will support it. There will be cures for cancer, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Cures for paralysis, and all sort of other miracle like medical advancements. Some even say we’re a decade away from basically all disease being obsolete. Due to the problem-solving, ability of the systems. cures for paralysis, and all sort of other miracle like medical advancements. But what happens from there? When they are able to reason and think for themselves and if they decide they don’t need us anymore? Then what? etc etc etccuzzin it and hope not dumb twucker Thank this. -
I said it before John warned us his mom tried too. Well I say we grab a chair some ice cold frosty beverages and watch the #### show unfold. lol.
mjd4277, Numb and Lennythedriver Thank this. -
That’s really all you can do. Never in human history has intelligence been put back in the box. We’re just too curious. But this time we may have developed our own demise and just don’t understand that yet. Im mid 50’s so I’ve lived more of my life than not. It’s the kids born in this world today they were gonna really have to deal with this stuff. Me? I’m gonna eat a big bag of popcorn and watch the show. lolhope not dumb twucker Thanks this.

What i wonder about is what behaviors will i see/deal with, when those 70% of population lose jobs and get hungry.
What will you do when there is no popcorn to be had ?hope not dumb twucker Thanks this. -
I’ll join ya.mjd4277 Thanks this.

No popcorn isn’t that big of a concern. Now no beer that is a big problem. That needs addressed.Numb Thanks this.
