I just started running intermodal 3 months ago. I lease my truck under Rose Transportation, Road One is taking them over. Pretty sure they have an office out your way. You can definitely make that. Just remember “early bird get the worm”
Intermodal O/O can you gross 800-1000 a day?

Yupp, if you live in a city with a good port. You can make it.
Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
Running Dallas to Houston port and back you can make a 6-700 a day after expenses. Hauling 53’ cans 5 state area has been paying me 8-900 a day after expenses. Beware, containers are a sore ### thumb going through big chicken houses. I ran my truck for a few years for landstar and never had a single hick up or violation. Been hauling cans here to go home more and the law has definitely been on my tail.

I know this is an old post, but I’m glad you’re doing well. I hope it’s still going great for you. I worked for two different companies as a O/O out of Columbus, OH. Both was terrible and I lost money at the end of the year.

You will learn--- It ain't how much you gross, the important number is how much you NET.

If all you want to gross some magic number, boy have I got a deal for you !!!!
Tell me what you want to gross and we have the papers for you to sign.
That's like walking into the stealer ship and saying "I want my payment to be ______"
What you have after it's all over should be the thing that matters. You can't retire or pay bills off your gross. Gross definitely matters as a part of the equation, but several things can whittle it down if you aren't watching the rest of the picture.Last edited: Mar 18, 2025

We use to run intermodal making great money, unfortunately the company we were hauling for went to #### and quickly started cutting rates and it got worse and worse until we finally left. We've been looking all around Midwest for another intermodal gig and nothing seems to be paying great and/or promises lots of loads that aren't there to even keep you truck busy for a full week.Rideandrepair Thanks this.
