I had an epiphany about backing up a tractor-trailer on a city street

If there were 2 lanes between you and the driveway, and a wide enough space to get past the other Truck, you had plenty of room. He also had plenty of room. You could have both probably turned at the same time. You had the right of way, you backed up on a public street. I suggest you get familiar with how the trailer axles track when turning. Avoid an anxiety ridden panic response to a very common situation. Learn what the Truck/Trailer can do. You’re in control, it won’t do anything on its own. The fact you’re surprised a vehicle close behind you can’t be seen is worrisome, especially since it was an afterthought. Next time you might not be so lucky.

So, when you're not sure there is something behind you, you don't G.O.A.L. BEFORE you back up...:sad3:

Are you arguing with me that you argue for the sake of arguing? If so, I wonder if your post goes confirms my accusation?

Well, if you accuse someone of arguing just to argue, it kind of puts them in a catch-22 situation. If they don't really argue just for the sake of arguing, they don't want to admit to it since they don't do it. But if they deny it, you can accuse them of arguing.

tscottme accused me of arguing for the sake of arguing. If a person is accused of arguing for the sake of arguing, the person won't want to admit to arguing for the sake of arguing since they don't argue for the sake of arguing. But if the person denies it, you can see "now you're trying to argue with tscottme." So the whole situation puts me in a catch 22 situation.
