Absolute bunch of BS… Can’t stand when they hide behind qualified immunity BS… The trooper clearly was at fault and they need to take some accountability

I am amazed that little bump totaled the vehicle. $1,000 loss on deductible, I wouldn't really worry about it too much. But that is just me. The state isn't going to pay, and there isn't anything he can do to make them pay him for that it seems like.

Cars are throw away now. A friend of mine got clipped by a kid who blew a red light last month. Her insurance totaled the vehicle, told her it was because one of the air bags went off. No longer deemed a safe vehicle. Thing was only 2 years old .Iamoverit, broke down plumber, mjd4277 and 3 others Thank this.

Yes, it is crazy how airbag deployment renders a car totaled. Honestly now with all the sensors and cameras on the front and rear, I guess it's not so surprising that cars are totaled so easily now. I had a Toyota Camry that got hit once in the rear and pushed into the car in front of it. Air bags didn't go off though at all and the insurance of the at fault driver paid to repair it all. I was surprised but thankful also that it wasn't totaled.broke down plumber, mjd4277, TheLoadOut and 2 others Thank this.

"Qualified immunity" is an excuse for the cops to get away with actions that would put anyone else under the jail. It needs to be done away with post haste.

At lot of vehicles have sensors and electronics that are tied in that are prohibitively expensive to replace, especially if they’re tied into the SRS systems.
Anything with a Toyota badge like that RAV-4 ain’t cheap from an insurance standpoint.Sirscrapntruckalot, TheLoadOut, broke down plumber and 1 other person Thank this. -
Having said that, the State of Minnesota needs to man up and pay this man.
