I had an epiphany this week too, about the state of driver training.

My sister talked me into a gambling trip today.
At first I said no because I lost yesterday. Then I said yes, because she likes to gamble (so do I) so I decided to go with her so she would not have to go to that closer place by herself. We almost never win there.

So, we went to Treasure Island today, just after I bought a new mattress for my bed.

I was given that bed by my nephew. He didn't like it so he gave it to me. I didn't know about it until I got home on home time and they had put that bed in place of my futon - which I really liked. It was one of those Purple mattresses, but really a very firm one. SURPRISE!!! for me.

So I buy my new mattress, which will be delivered in 2 days so maybe I can get some good nights sleep, and we head out to Treasure Island.
I am really not into it, as I had lost a bit yesterday, so I am wandering around.
My sister is playing a machine and not doing very well, and I take the machine next to her.
After about 5 minutes I hit a $950 payout on a $1.50 bet. Well, I had probably put in 50 before I got the jackpot, but...

So, it just about paid for the mattress that I just bought.


The point being?
This thread was going nowhere, so I just thought I would throw that in.
And yes, that is a true accounting of what happened today.
It was a pretty good day.

 

I remember during my testing, the state examiner asked me what the bridge weight limit was that we had just crossed.

I paused for a moment, then told him "###### if I know, I do not remember seeing any sign".

He also paused for a minute, then told me.... "I appreciate your honesty. Do you have any idea how many of the folks I test that just spout out something/anything in a panic"?

Well, there was no sign & he pulled this one on everyone he tested. Just his way of making a boring ### job more entertaining, while getting a good read on what folks are really like.

My, what a catchy term. Seems so #### familiar.

My Deja Vue senses are tingling again....... or, I might just need to take a pee.

Should have asked the tester if he thought deer could read signs and only cross at that spot.

My trainer tried to get me nervous about the test area
being opposite to State Police HQ, it was and I did not
feel stressed, not even a bit, I may have forgotten it was
even there on test day lol

 

These kind of threads make me feel like quitting driving. Seriously what’s it coming to anyway. I’ve been driving for 10 years and I doubt I could go back and pass. I’ve still never double clutched in my life. How do these people that don’t even know english pass?
