Trust me, I wouldn’t want a girlfriend in every state I’m not even sure if I want one in a single state. But you always hear that about truck drivers. They got girlfriends all over the country. I used to think it was true. I don’t now because there’s no time for it.
What important skills of truck driving did you learn after your first year of trucking?

If you have that kind of time, your driving for the wrong company. Most of the time I have my next dispatch the day before I deliver (or drop n hook). Last week I dropped at Corrine Utah Wallyworld, before I was out from under the trailer I was dispatched to P&G down the road for a preloaded trailer. 20 hours to the delivery window.

I learned how to lie with no guilty feelings , never volunteer any info no matter how insignificant it may be and never tell a dispatcher you like going somewhere cause you will never see that place again .

What I learned in my first year of trucking..,,..,if judged by today’s standards was how to be a criminal.
I also learned to wipe the receiver off on the pay phone before sticking it to my head.
I learned don’t pitch quarters with them old heads if you value your silver.
I learned that the clap was easy to get but a m’fer to get rid of
I learned a dispatcher just assume climb a tree to lie to you as stand on the ground and tell you the truth
If it can go wrong it willMidwestResident, Feedman, Sirscrapntruckalot and 10 others Thank this.
