Well guys, been today in 3 big truck driving companies and I don't have 2 most important things - (1) Canadian Citizenship, (2) 1 year of experience driving a semi truck.
Need to create a plan and find someone who can help me with experience.

Just do something else dude, FOR REAL!. I just found out, my old LTL company just let 1/3 of the staff and O/O's go. They also let go a bunch of senior drivers, and hired "Cheaper" replacements; Freight is DONE! Dump is turning into a disaster also, everyone and his brother is buying a scrap metal truck and pup, and running around trying to do it 30-40% cheaper. I was having fun, but now i'm just getting pissed off, with all these scrap metal trucks, ripping around on sites, constantly pissing off the operators, almost backing their pups up berms and off piles. Like F-ME, anything class 1/3 in Canada is a BAD JOKE!!!!!

I’m glad I got out of ltl… everything happens for a reason. Being on a dedicated run makes me happy. One customer, go between A and B.

Yea man, they have totally pissed into the wind, just to compete with the bottom feeders. I'm beyond upset about it, even not working there anymore, I put a lot of my life into that place, not just driving, but also writing policy, helping build their LCV procedures, driver manuals, training etc etc etc; all for nothing. Then they lay off the best people in the company? almost all my closest friends, like really? anyway.

I updated my will and life insurance, incase some scrap metal dump truck and pup kills me, then I won't have to worry about it anymore.

Companies don’t care anymore. They don’t care about the work you put in, or the people they lay off. Just numbers. If they can get numbers to work for cheaper, that’s the road they take.

Yessir! Also, even if someone has the numbers, the moment they push back from the abuse, GONE! onto the next piece of fresh meat. Managers don't want to hear about inefficiency or losses or ####ups, they only wanna hear growth at any cost, and how great they are.

They also think the company lifespan of a Highway driver, is about 6 months. As long as they can grind a highway driver into dust for a minimum of 6 months, it was worth hiring them, and who cares what happens to them after. They literally have this down to a science, the revolving door feeding the meat grinder. I used to think Bison and TransX were the main culprits making money off the insane turnover of drivers, but now they're all doing it.
