Ouch that is big money. First thing I saw on a 6nz reman was 60k lol. I will do some more looking. I want a nice setup but I also don't want to spend a fortune.

Engine recon top tier 39kDiesel Dave, DUNE-T and Big Road Skateboard Thank this. -
Might do a long block and then 6 new injectors from them. 4-6 days shipped to my house.
I feel like with a good engine hoist I can definitely pull this engine.
Or maybe the base recon engine is worth it. Cause I'm sure that has the oil pump and fill accessory drive.Big Road Skateboard Thanks this. -

I usually pull trans with engine. R&R clutch and cross shafts/bell hsg bushings if needed, new bolts with loctite, and torqued.
Then swing it all back in togetherDiesel Dave and Kruse Family Farms Thank this. -
Sounds like the oil cooler failed and possibly cracked open. Oil psi rising before laying down is usually opposite of what happens with normal bottom end failures. Psi drops. Coolant getting into oil passages may have raised the psi. Cummins water pumps make around 15 psi of flow pressure. Then the pumping of coolant where oil should be caused lockup. Block and heads may still be good. Heck crank may be ok if passes magniflux inspection with a little undersize grinding.

Another thing to note I would love to do an in frame myself but I really don't have the time or the space for it. I even worry about the long block since so much coolant and potentially metal went through my engine. I don't know that I trust anyone around here to do an in frame either. Plus by the time they do it and with labor that is probably 20k at least. Then I have a pieced together engine for barely cheaper.
