Truck driver can seek triple damages over CBD product

If he couldn’t figure that out that those products could have that in there as it a very good possibility then he’s an idiot…

 

Disagree with the ruling, this means that now personal injury cases fall under the RICO statute and this opens the door for a driver to cover his drug use up by threatening the company he worked for and a company that he no longer needs to prove that there was intent to damage the person.

 

It was falsely advertised as being free of THC. If their lies cost me my career, I'd be suing their arses off as well.

Me neither, for exactly this reason. Still doesn't excuse their misrepresentation of their products.

Im with both dvr and gear here. If you buy anything even remotely related to a substance that can lose you your CDL without a doctors perscription to cover your ### with your a moron. Your literally trusting what until recently were literally criminals in a still evolving market with slap dash regulations with your career.

On the other hand, if something is advertised as X and you get Y then there ARE laws in place to sue the ever loving #### out of that company and this guy is taking advantage of it. That said i also worry about the precident this sets. Like ridge said. I can absolutely see this being abused in a lot of ways going forward.

So im somewhat torn.

I don't foresee anything good coming from this, legally speaking.

Also, this is just one more reason why you as a driver should never take any CBD products. I don't believe that there are any on the market that actually contain 0% THC despite what the makers claim.
