hey, you guys go for it and then let me know, When the "recruiter" couldn't figure out who I was and accused me of being someone else and they spoke with my mom when my mom doesn't answer my phone nor does she speak on my phone unless I hand MY PHONE to her to speak with whomever I may be talking too, I decided to get out while the getting was good... Let me know how it turns out for you. TD.

That is pretty funny TD, they told me the same thing about talking with my mother. . I asked them, "Are you sure because my parents live in Cambridge, England and I don't remember giving you the number." The lady then asked if I was getting smart with her. Oh well, I am happy with the decision I made and will stick with it.

david07003, out of curiosity, did you go to smith solomon driving school? if so, which location was it? I recently did a refresher at the New Castle DE location. good luck to wherever you go to.
-

If you want to be an owner op, do yourself a favor and don't lease with ANY company, especially if you're new. Save up your cash and buy the truck outright, or worst case scenario, finance it through a legitimate bank. If you lease through a company, the incentive to get rid of you and put another sap in your seat to continue paying for your truck gets stronger and stronger the closer you get to the end of your lease.
If I was inclined to be an owner op, which I'm not, I'd do it like my grandfather did (he's still driving by the way.) He buys old Walmart trucks, pays 12-15 grand cash, and finds a carrier to work with pulling their trailers. Last time I ran into him out here he was pulling auto parts with for a carrier out of Michigan. I'm sure he's moved on to something else by now, but the point is, he has no payments. He's been an owner op for 30 years, and in that entire time he's never made a truck payment. He's on his second or third truck in all that time. His truck works for him, he doesn't work for the truck. That's where you want to be. -
I went to Winsor's Trucking School which is just down the road from Smith and Soloman. It was a lot cheaper and its one on one training as opposed to being in a class and sharing like S and S does.
-
thats cool sounds like a good deal. the way training should be
-
I have been at S and S for almost 5 months lol! I plan on testing out next week.
BTW I only failed one test.
