SOMETIMES a shipper or receiver will charge to have their freight loaded or unloaded. This is generally called a lumper fee. However, the driver never pays that fee. The party paying for the freight or trucking company pays that fee. It's often paid by an online method or a check (like Comdata/Comcheck or EFS).

The driver may need to pay to weight the truck after loading. This is uniersally reimbursed by the trucking company. Typically fee is under $15 for 1st weight & a couple of $ for re-weigh.

Tolls are usually reimbursed by the trucking company, unless they say "no tolls". Then driver might choose to pay his own money, but that is unusual.

Driver might buy engine oil, wiper fluid, glad-hand seals & be reimbursed by trucking company.

I'm not sure what kind of fees you have in mind.

To the best of my knowledge, there are no "hidden" fees in the life of a trucker. Just like anybody, you will pay ATM surcharges, etc. As stated above, your carrier will either pay or reimburse you for your requirements. Now, YOU are going to pay for your entertainment. Want internet? You're going to need a data plan. Want satellite radio? You're going to pay for it. I retired almost 13 years ago, so I am not up on this, but at one time, most truck stops had novels on CD/tape you could rent/buy. And, of course, you pay for your meals!

I heard some truckers complaining about some hidden fees that were in "small writing" and how the company ripped them off.
Not sure if it was a Lease jobs or Company or something else, i just want to be on lookout before i start

Don't matter how small the writing is. Get a magnify glass if you need to. But make sure you read every word on anything you sign and also any employee handbook provided.
