Just discovered an oil leak on my 2021 Volvo D13, 540k miles. I had an oil change done last week, I think they may have overfilled her just a tad. It was reading right at max on the stick, but with some splotches of oil higher on the stick. I checked it in the morning after a full night with no running. My oil level on the dash truck data menu was showing right at Max. Oil pressure seemed a bit higher than normal, right around 60 psi after getting up to temp.
Took some pics of the rear of the engine, let me know what you think. Not noticing any drips under the truck, but I hadn’t really been looking. I’ll keep an eye on it as well as oil levels daily.

It’s fairly common for them to leak from the back of the pan. Easy to replace the gasket.
ducnut and Friedchicken667 Thank this. -
Check back of the cylinder head and on top of transmission. The rear timing cover (smaller plastic one) are notorious for leaking. There’s an updated cover that Volvo sells along with gasketsducnut and Friedchicken667 Thank this.

Yeah last time I was in the shop the mechanic told me to keep an eye on the timing plate, it had some seeping leaks collecting dust at the top. Truck still has some warranty, may take it in to Volvo soon get it looked at
-
Take advantage of that warranty before it runs out for sure.FullMetalJacket and ducnut Thank this.

Don’t go blaming the oil change, when you pursue it. That leak has been there awhile.

Volvo is kind of a pain in the ### on warranty stuff.
Do not run over one iota on it.ducnut and Friedchicken667 Thank this.
