This is one of those things that will work in some applications/situations, and "some" is better than none, but, anyone who thinks these are going to be "overall" good devices and work in most cases are kidding themselves. Both of these devices will work, but in limited situations.
This is another one of those "Super Single" engineering failures. The engineers (who have no understanding of how the real world application works), sells the idea to some suit and tie an now "it's the golden egg".
