They have before I gave notice, and will be again before I leave. It wont matter but I’ll say it anyways. One of the guys has hit a snowplow while trying to pass it, has 2 speeding tickets, had a spill of over 100 gallons of gas at a station, got locked out for life up in Tacoma for lying and saying he’d done 3 loads with a trainer up there and was ready to get carded. What he didn’t know is that they have the trainer and trainee sign in every time they pull a load from there before getting carded. And he’s getting his second brand new truck within a year. And I’m in a clapped out 2013 T800Last edited: Apr 6, 2025

Sounds like they’re related to somebody, or like one instance I personally encountered one of them has a wife running day care at home and has an office critter as a customer.Oxbow, JB7, Rugerfan and 1 other person Thank this.

I have a feeling there’s definitely some under the table deals going on

There's something going on. A guy like that wouldn't last very long at most tanker outfits I know of. He's getting by on his connections, one way or another.Lonesome, Oxbow, tscottme and 1 other person Thank this.

The general manager is the one that always vouches to keep him. Twice the owners wanted to fire him and the GM who also dispatches, talked them out of it because he does so much work. But the GM is the one who loads him down with work. It’s so backwards from what I’m used to.Oxbow Thanks this.

A guy like that will eventually make them sorry they kept him. Sad to say I've seen some guys, protected by either a higher up or a union, who hung in there a long time.
We had a guy at PIE with three spills in a year but he was the brother in law of the Teamsters business agent so he kept his job.
About all you can do is just say to yourself "F this. I'll do my job and keep my ears open for something better."Lonesome, Oxbow, tscottme and 1 other person Thank this. -
That’s pretty much what I’ve been doing. The one downside will be that I now have to share a truck again.

I suspected you were from Yellow. Guess I understand the anger. But you're not there anymoreLast edited: Apr 10, 2025
