1099 Chicago Trucking Companies that are Honest

When you're talking Lease/Purchase from a Chicago area company and the company controls the truck, it's a measles vs chickenpox vs the flu situation. Compared to the first two, the flu doesn't seem so bad. But I don't want any of them.

 

Some lease purchase guys do just fine. I have found that you can make a really good deal on a one year old truck on your own and buy it if you know what you are looking for and inspect the truck properly and drive it with a load on it before you plunk your money down. Others have been successful with rent to own.
Same with the Chicago/Gary Indiana Igor and Boris Super Slav Truck fleet thing. There is not a 100% guarantee that you will get burned but either know how to do your research or play it safe and avoid them. If you just jump into a job to get out of a terrible situation, you could be back into another bad job. Toss the dice and see what you get.
There are people here who work for Illinois or Indiana companies that are doing just fine. There are the "I got burned" stories by the dozens. So the risk is really high. It's not 100% but it's well past 65. People don't do the digging until they are really hurting. Perhaps, we need some kind of topic showing them how do look at a company and dig into them and what to look for. Maybe these guys don't know how to look them up and see what the DOT is, where the company is ( a house, bakery etc) see the history, the violations etc. We could be better at helping them. I am thought they don't have any interest until it's too late. They don't find out until they have been there for months and their czech is very short and they are already job hunting, looking to bounce. The BBB is a joke, ignore that stuff.
