Got my CDL A in 2022 with expiration of 2027. In 2024 I decided to drive a transit bus and had to get my passenger endorsement. In order to get the P endorsement I had to complete mandatory hours behind the wheel and take the class B test. Transit company had their own certified DMV testers, took the test, passed. They submitted results to CA DMV.
I knew going in the CDL A supersedes CDLB so my license would stay CDL A. Get my new lic in the mail, shows as CDl A but has an expirationof 2029. I pull my driving record from DMV, same deal, exp 2029 CDl A.
Does this mean my CDLA is good until 2029. I know it’sstupid question, it says 2029, I want to make sure it ain’t aclerical error before I show upto the DMV and ask them.

@brian991219 probably has the answer.
Jefe999 Thanks this. -
Yes....it is indeed a stupid question.
And so -- your future CDL career is thus doomed.
Just kidding......
Why don't you look your newly-minted CDL up on your state's motor vehicle website?
It will likely show your new CDL....& <<<gasp>>>...its expiration date.
Better get out there & use it -- before you ask another stupid question.....

Yeah clerical error on their part, but in your favor. D/L says expire 2029, driving record says 2029. Good until 2029 ! It does have a "P" endorsement right ?
Jefe999 Thanks this. -

Yes, when you added the P endorsement they liejly processed the renewal at the same time. That is common in many states. To confirm just order your offcial MVR transcript from your licensing state and it will show you the correct expiration date.
Rideandrepair, Chinatown and Jefe999 Thank this.
