Im doing a few loads that went from being 14'7 tall to actually being 15'7 tall. So when im loaded ill be 16'7 tall......I of course know ill probably have to have a route survey and I know a pole car of course. But, Im trying to see if anyone was ever required to use a bucket truck and police escorts. I know they aren't cheap which is ok, I just want to quote the right amount of money. Id rather over quote then under. All other dimensions are legal.
I thought I read somewhere where bucket trucks were like $1000 an hour or something? Police was a minimum of like $500.... I cant remember anything nowadays..
@kylefitzy I know you've done some bigger stuff also.
@Landincoldfire A few others from the Heavy haul forums that I know....

I talked to this guy in Tuscon,he was 17' or 17'6".He needed a route survey,Tuscon to Oklahoma, $2000.Police escort $2.50 a mile x 2.
2 bucket trucks ,$4000 a day,and pilot cars ???D.Tibbitt, Rugerfan, Big Road Skateboard and 1 other person Thank this. -
Actually comparably speaking Ive got it pretty easy....... Ill have to have 2 escorts and Highway Patrol/State troopers in NC...... No route survey needed or bucket trucks......
I emailed NC and they emailed me back within 30 minutes and told me what I would need. Virginia hasn't gotten back with me yet but, im not too worried about VA -
What states will you be in? On the east coast is a very different game than in the west. TX for example would be just buy a $60 permit and roll, not even a height pole needed.
nikmirbre Thanks this. -
Just Va and NC….
