No kidding I wa at a shipper in Rialto Saturday, checked in dropped my my hooked to a preloaded marked company trailer, and the guard would not open the gate, refused for me to take the loaded trailer because he did not like the temp registration issued by the state of Ohio. FIrst Ive run into that. Dropped it hooked my empty and came home for a nice 3 day weekend.
Never heard of refusing to release at preload because of that, It's not like Heartland's is unmarked you can see us coming from a mile away. I had all the other stuff like NY tag, IFTA trailer reg and plate......
Sorry for the spelling error
Shipper refusing you to take preload, temp lic registration

That’s messed up. Big well established company like Heartland. Chicago Ragtag I could see, probably the cause of the rule. Surprised Heartland couldn’t straighten it out for you. It’s ironic that had you been running illegally without the temp in the windshield, you wouldn’t have had a problem. I’d say the Guard needs to be disciplined for not doing his job.

Some gate guards think & act as if they're special forces for the CIA.

When I was with Tyson, we were allowed to bobtail to the house. I was once dispatched from home to a nearby plant to grab a customer preload. Mind you, I’m in a Tyson truck, at a Tyson plant, picking up a Tyson customer load, on a Tyson trailer, that was due to deliver in three hours.
The guard refused to allow the pickup because I was coming out of the house bobtail, and failed the load. Operations was less than impressed.Flat Earth Trucker, FullMetalJacket, OLDSKOOLERnWV and 5 others Thank this. -
I heard one security guard saying, "If these truck drivers don't do what I say, I'm going to start kicking ass."

You probably rolled up on the guard while he was toking and made him lose half a joint.

I went to work for Heartland in the mid 90s. Delivered to Walmart in Seymour In. on a Saturday afternoon. Woke up, my empty was gone. Grabbed by another Driver. Tried to leave and gate was locked. No phones back then. Just a Qualcomm. Luckily I had some tools. Took the hinge off the gate, got out, put gate back together. Lol. Never heard anything about it.

Maybe the guard has some rule he has to follow to keep his job. Maybe the rule is stupid or maybe the guard misunderstood the rule.
Flat Earth Trucker, Bean Jr. and Rideandrepair Thank this.
