Very easy. We have a thing called spectroscopy. Different atoms and molecules absorb different wavelengths of light. We can see what the star emits and then see what happens to that light when the planet passes in front of that star. There are certain chemical signatures which on Earth are only known to exist due to the processes of life. Not everybody is necessarily on board with this hypothesis though, because it's entirely possible it is not a planet like Earth and those chemical signatures can exist in something like a gas giant.

That could be possible or not. However, there seems like similarities/common data in our universe. Something to go on. Even if it's 120 LY.Last edited: Apr 18, 2025

As to the size of the planet, we have a pretty good idea of the size of the star and watching it over the course of a planetary year. We can see the deviation from its natural course by planets pulling on it and from that also estimates the mass of the planets.

124 Light Years is a serious distance and for some difficult to comprehend. In miles that 1,173,164,000,000,000 KM (728,933,719,760,000 Miles) even traveling at Light speed (670,616,629.3844 MPH). At 9.9 warp speed it would take 359.463 hrs upon arrival (15 day). Whow, it's difficult to fathom these numbers and makes a trucker who is 3 million miler look like a trucker can go more. But realistically, these is no way because of the traveling speed difference. This reminds me of that film 'Space Truckers' staring the late 'Dennis Hopper'.

Obviously not possible with our current technology however look around the world,,,we are not an advanced species ,,people killing one another in the name of some invisible guy no one has ever seen..
Aliens likely speed up with their blinders on when they pass near earth,,,dont want nothin to do with us

Aliens when they're running through our neighborhood.

This is a brief summary of what I know on the subject. About 10 years ago about 50% of top scientist, kind of hypothesized that we might be living in some kind of matrix. Today something like 85% think it’s more likely than not. Due to recent scientific studies… No, that’s not a matrix like the movie or some kind of computer simulation, far more advanced and sophisticated than that. Not saying people are fake or reality is fake just that when you break it down to the most minute details it is being shown over and over that there is some type of programming involved. Structure to structure at the smallest particle levels. We had the Atom smasher and now as we have isolated via CERN And other studies to decipher, there is even smaller particles, a.k.a. dark matter, aka “God particles” which makes up everything in existence essentially. When scientists smash these particles together at light speeds and they break apart (explode) these particles will seek each other out and rejoin. It’s incredible really. When they also observe them and study them they also seem to have coding and some type of programming. They act “alive” And this is what would make up everything in existence. a.k.a. leading to the theory that we live in some type of simulated dimension. Probably far beyond our comprehension. Some people might call that God itself or some type of advanced Creation. At some point everything in existence comes from something. Studying all this, and this is just again a very brief summary of what I know, has absolutely led me to believe there is some type of intelligent design to all of what we know. It’s just impossible for there not to be. Just my two cents in the subject.Folk Fries and Chinatown Thank this.
