I do push pull stuff like this moving crawler cranes. It’s pretty cool. It’s pretty wild not touching the steering wheel while in the back.
Moving on.

I love threads like this. It really makes me appreciate the skills I've developed over years that I've put in and the handsome pay I receive.
Thanks everyone!bryan21384 and Lonesome Thank this. -
OP must have put those degrees to use. Maybe @expedite_it could add some of his wisdom to this thread?
Sirscrapntruckalot, expedite_it, Numb and 3 others Thank this. -
FullMetalJacket Thanks this.

Notice that everyone is telling @PanthersFan39 that he cannot have learned much in his first six months. They are saying six months is not long enough to learn much. Then these same people will tell me that everyone learns the trucking questions that I ask in their first six months. I have ten years of experience driving semi-trucks. Then I created a thread asking what people learned about trucking AFTER their first year in trucking, and hardly anyone said anything that they learned after their first year.Last edited: Apr 23, 2025

I've had some people tell me that it's slave labor and "criminal" to have someone hauling hazmat tanker loads for that pay, but also had others telling me that it's a great place to start for the experience.
It's funny that someone thinks they're going to make $2k/week at Schneider though with 6 months experience. Hell, Schneider themselves say that their "top drivers" earn less than $2k/week.expedite_it and JOHNQPUBLIC Thank this. -

Less Than Truckload is one segment where the money is.
Specialized/oversize is another.

have no idea other companies or segments.
