I was reading these post. Can you even pass a DOT Physical with Schizophrenia ? You can pay like $100 and go take a DOT physical to see if you even pass. The info from DOT will probably go into national registry so once the know about the Schizophrenia pass or fail once it out in national data base as failed it would stop you from getting CDL unless the it it some how fixed. You dont want drive a truck if have lots of mental health problems. But if the problems are from family and not having friends or like you feel like you can be yourself around people because so many have people judge other people for no reason .

Maybe trucking can be a good job it can get people out and way from the problem people and you can learn to be yourself or like you don’t have put on a show to hide the person you are. You can take you guards down and relax when you out driving.

I think you would lose all ssdi as soon as they see you can get regular paying job. It like your going all in and failing is not an option. You can quit because you having a day or anything. I just don’t know about the mental health stuff.

have you ever listened to Dr Laura she has radio show now on satellite radio and she basically can fix most people problems

If you drift into one of your catatonic states you will crash the truck and possibly kill someone.

 

I see no way you're insurable . That's your biggest hurdle.

 

If you are catatonic and are honest to a doctor about that then you're SOL. Between your history, driving record, condition, and the job market I'm going to recommend you find another industry to try and make it in.

If you have schizophrenia and have suffered from catatonia before you definitely shouldn't be driving. And this is coming from someone with it but having never been in a catatonic state.
