Pretty much where it first opens up headed towards town. He had pasture over the hill on the south side and hay ground next to the highway near his house.
I was by there last year looking at a job. It’s changed a bit since 1974, but not too much yet. Other than the jersey barrier and some asphalt patching, the grade is pretty much the same.
On a different topic, you could always tell what time of day it was by how fast the forest service vehicles were traveling on that road. Morning they were slower than molasses, but don't get in there way come quitting time!

Same old same old. Greasy bar and some tubing out of LA. Did a half ### tarp job . 1.5 hour to load strap and throw 3 tarps. still looks better than a western express tarp job. Good enough for the girls i date...just in time for LA rush hour...
