Yep, I quit cold turkey in 2004. Since hops turn to sugar in your body, you crave sweets for sure when you quit. Gotta moderate it though, diabetes is next if you ain't careful.ironhand Thanks this.

Ok, maybe I won't. I was planning on switching from my 3-44 oz Mt. Dews per day, and a pack of cigarettes per day to none of either. Or better yet, maybe I'll try one at a time.
As for alcohol, I only drink a six pack - every now & again.ironhand Thanks this. -
What you think about your monitor is just popular ignorance. Don't take that the wrong way, since its POPULAR.
First of all, radiation itself would not destroy your thyroid without doing serious damage to other parts of you. What destroys the thyroid is a radioactive isotope of iodine, and since the thyroid and pretty much nothing else uses iodine, it drinks it right up...
Second, thyroid destruction by radioactive iodine cant be that bad cause my mom just got diagnosed with an overactive thyroid and they treated her with a pill of radioactive iodine. Pill is custom made to order and overnight shipped to the hospital and it has to be taken that day or its no good. Can you imagine the bill? (and no, i dont know what it cost yet!)
As for your monitor, here's the popular ignorance: Radiation comes in many forms. The most common are radio frequency, such as microwaves, bluetooth, cell phones, cb radio. It's also produced as interference by monitors, mostly CRTs. These are all non ionizing radiation. They're harmless.
Ionizing radiation is the nasty stuff. That's what's used in nuclear power plants, that pill they gave my mom... and trust me, your monitor is not putting this out.
And the whole notion of cell phones causing cancer is bull. It's just as ridiculous as CARB. I've even slept within 20 feet of cell phone towers just for the hell of it (in the truck of course).
People like to link things up for no reason. Oh, you talk on your cell phone all day. And now you have ear cancer. Oh, you sit on your computer all day, now your thyroid doesnt work.
You'd also be surprised at the number of lung cancer victims who've never in their life smoked. But it's covered up by the powers that be to make smoking look worse.
There's also a lot of stupid people on these internet forums......haha.
it's all bull. If you lived in california you'd probably say diesel particulate emissions caused your thyroid to not work. AND GUESS WHAT? If you sued the manufacturer of the engine in your truck claiming that, with a california lawyer, YOUD WIN.
Point is, what if you'd never used a computer? you'd probably still have your issue. What if these truckers who claim to have lung cancer from diesel particulate emissions never drove trucks? They'd probably still have lung cancer. What if these idiots on internet forums never used internet forums? They probably wouldn't be idiots. What if these people who never smoked and got lung cancer had smoked? Their wives would be saying "i told you so!!!!" What if these people with ear or brain cancer never heard of a cell phone? They'd blame it on music. Or cell phone towers.
Why is it that people live next door to radio stations putting out over 1000 watts and dont seem to get cancer?
Anyway dont take this the wrong way. It's just human nature to link things together like that.ironhand Thanks this. -
That is very odd, man. To be perfectly honest, are you SURE the gatorade wasnt making you sick? It seems very odd that you can drink mountain dew but not pepsi.....they both have the same addictive chemicals...ironhand Thanks this.
-
Addictive chemicals WTF? man....I'll be looking that stuff up, thanks!

Well, I've drank a lot of Gatorade for a long time because with me I constantly have to keep something to drink within reach. I dehydrate easily. I think it may have something to do with the fact that pepsi is darker than MD like when a doctor tell's you to drink clear liquids like water and 7up. I'm feeling better though. I found out coming to a dead stop from sodawater can't be good so I'm back around to just backing down slowly until I reach one 16oz can MD a day.
I've been smoking a lot more than normal lately but it's only because my stress level has gone up to a whole new level. Never really been much on sweet's but when I get for it I go with it and get something. I'm more of a "real food" kind of person. I'll eat almost anything except for eggplant and #### of that nature which no one here likes. We only eat fried food's about once or twice a month and I stopped using salt and anything containing to much salt but found that from time to time I have to dive into a small bag of plain potato chip's and find that I can't get enough salt so I've upped my salt usage a little trying to balance thing's out.
I used to be able to eat and drink anything like my stomache was a cast iron tub but in the last year, year and half it's started catching up with me so now I work out and excircise on a daily basis. Now If I can just get around those #### cigarettes. They sure are good, but they ain't good for ya. -
Well if you smoke, which I won't hold you to it if you don't know because a lot of people don't know but cigarettes contain something like 27 different chemicals. Not sure about sodawater but I can almost bet there's more there than just caffine.road dust Thanks this.

The man does make a very good point and not saying anyone should go jump into a nuclear reactor just to prove fact but with learning about it first hand rather than watching and listening to all the HYPE on the new's and such would infact make it plausible if not fact. Something's I've learned from reading, research and plain out trying it for my self (because I heard it else where) and then turning on the TV to watch the discovery or history channel and see a show stating the same thing can prove some fact's. Just like Jesse Ventura on that show Conspiracy Theory about the government trying to get their "plans" rolling on population control and targeting food as a main source by adding other chemical's in with the herbicide's and pesicide's used on crops. I can believe it. I got interested in these theories and started reseaching them myself and when they annouced the show I was all for watching it and would drop everything not to miss it and each conspiracy was nailed head on with what I had found out. Look up "population control" on youtube and watch some of those vid's. One woman several year's back held hard copy proof in her hand's. Then she made a short appearance on the show. That blew my mind.
Just like flouride being used in drinking water and tooth paste. Do you know what flouride does and how harmful it is? It's been shown that people in other countries where flouride is not used in drinking water have healthier teeth and gum's than we do with the chemical in our water.
And like phroziac states here about lung cancer. People who don't smoke end up with lung cancer but there are people who do smoke and are heavy smoker's middle and older aged that DON'T have lung cancer. My dad happen's to be one when he went in because of a heart attack (caused by drug use all his life) but when they looked at his chest and ran test's, other than the tar build up, his lung's are as healthy as a horse and this is a two pack a day kinda guy.
Radiation, it's everywhere. Radiation atom's are constanly entering and leaving our bodies every second of every day but it's of no harm because the gamma isn't any where near high enough to be harmful but go get yourself an MRI and it's a whole differnet ball game. Hospital's supposedly say MRI's "are safe" but seeing the radiation sign's all around the area for that room makes me think other wise.
It's all a big playing field with a lot to play with to get fact and fiction right. Phroziac sound's like he know's his #### with this post. Big brother is playing a huge game of "what they don't know won't hurt them. Or will it?" But they don't care as long as they are getting dollar's in their pocket and keeping a lip on the thing's we aren't supposed to know. -
Don't, don't, don't! You gotta come back out and party with us at some point.
Just don't be to long or it will be hard to have a party as companies are getting tight.
