You're right -- 55 is the new 35....
Given your stated location -- for a beginner, Swift Transportation is pretty much a no-brainer for you....they have a pretty good terminal there in Phoenix:
Swift Transportation Phoenix, AZ Terminal
Given the impending tariff & freight volume issues -- because of their size -- Swift is much more likely to maintain the freight volumes necessary to keep you moving -- & making money.
