I'm working on getting my CDL now.... are tehre any trucking jobs like that? I don't mind going on the long haul, but I can't bear to be away from my family more than 1/2 of the week. I'm willing to make less money for that, so I just wonder if any company offers something like that.
I don't know nothing about trucking hardly, I'm getting out of another career which I can't take it anymore literally, and like driving and physical activity, being outside, seeing the country, etc, so that's why i am looking into trucking,.
I'd like to be home 3 -4 days a week

Your not going to see much of the countrywith that kind of home time, But I can understand. I would look for local/regional work. Steel companies, lumber companies, equipment companies. If it has a day7 cab you might want to consider it. Just avoid the large national companies. They will promise you the moon, but what they mean is you'll be living off of green cheese, and little else.
Where do you live, maybe some folks here will have some names for you to check out. -
Knight does offer an 'Express drive'r option, which is 4 days out/4 days home. I drive Express, but I go 5-8 days out/4 days home, since cant go far enuf in miles and wont make much $$. With Knight, to do must live near one of their larger terminals since you have to slip (move in/out diff trk each time out) the truck. Also, probably wont average more than 300-350 miles/day. I drive for them for the perks, not for the $$$!!!
