Couldn’t possibly be because Kenworth manufacture junk? When carriers can’t keep them on the road, why would they order more. Our fleet and another local fleet regularly have ~10% of them parked. That other fleet continually have 30-40 PACCAR trucks on their OOS board. Crazy!

Kw lost 3 large accounts down here for trucks. The company's are family owned and have been W9 buyers since the 60’s and 70’s. They will not buy the new European cabs and soccer mom dashboards. One of the brothers of one of the company's told me that the district sales mgr is retiring early because kw corp office will not let them custom order half the stuff they used to be able to. And they quoted them $20k extra for custom vintage style paint scheme on the new ones. They plan on rebuilding their trucks forever now. Kw will soon gonna be one size fits all , $200,000 be happy with what we offer you trucks soon just like Diamler made FL in to.

Considering the Economy right now it makes sense. Freight Rates and Volumes are down. Less loads, multiple bankruptcies weekly. It will probably get even worse before bottoming out before it balances out and gets better.

Not surprised at all. Between crazy fuel prices, parts shortages, and the uncertainty with rates, most fleets I know are holding off. You can’t justify dropping big money on a new rig when the market is this shaky.

There is a massive Kenworth dealer here. I drove by it the other day and there had to have been nearly 100 trucks parked on the lot.
Heavy spec trucks are a huge portion of the market in this region. I'm curious to see what happens to Kenworth's sales around here once the T-800 and C-500 are gone. There is no way a T-880 is going to last doing C-500 things.
I can't say that I've even seen a T-880 winch or T-bed unit out and about.Vampire, Albertaflatbed, Flat Earth Trucker and 3 others Thank this.
