[QUOTE="BoxCarKidd, post: 13194003, member: 151415"The 9670 had a sleeper but I opted for a steering wheel nap because I needed to be at work in the morning. It was cold and the engine was running.
Another truck came in with the same problem. Backed right up in front of me and set the parking brake. That woke me up with brake lights 10 feet in front of me. I could not push the brake pedal though the floor or pull the steering wheel out of the dash. [/QUOTE]
A co worker was takiing a steering wheel nap. Someone backed a trailer in front of him with llights on. Then jumped on his step to wake him.....good times at Roads West in phx

You're not wrong. As far as I can tell the team trucks seem to be governed around 68, and I often see them blasting through work zones peddle to the metal, tailgating, etc., then work zone ends and they are back to clogging the center lane. Just like your typical Amazon/Super Ego/flipfloppers.mjd4277, TheLoadOut, ducnut and 1 other person Thank this.

I've seen it both ways with them. Usually the daycab drivers are pretty safe and respectful on the road. Others drive like maniacs. I always assumed the safe drivers are paid by the hour and the rest are paid by the mile or by the load
TheLoadOut, Iamoverit and hope not dumb twucker Thank this. -
I've definitely seen some dangerous UPS drivers over the years. It's just been my experience that it seems nowhere near as prevalent as their biggest competitor FedRex.mjd4277, TheLoadOut and Kyle G. Thank this.

The FedEx contractors are Amazon equivalents. The FedEx company drivers are usually really good out here. My only complaint is their intent on passing everything they come upon, even if only to gain 1/2mi over the course of their entire day. I can easily pass them, but, hang out behind them, because they provide my frontend a buffer from all the idiots traveling I-70.
Kyle G., PacoTaco, hope not dumb twucker and 2 others Thank this. -
I watched a Fed Ex Freight driver coming out of the Interstate median doing a U-turn in fog that was extremely thick a couple weeks ago. Doesn’t mean they are all bad drivers but this one certainly had lack of good judgment. If you look hard enough you will find bad drivers at each one of our companies, no company is completely free of them.Last edited: May 17, 2025
