Is this normal? I am not sure if there are more tolls coming from my trip through there or if that is all of them just marked as "11 Cont Chain Bridge" on my bestpass report. This is ridiculous either way. I took the express lanes of 66 Eastbound to 495 express, to 395 to get to Alexandria.

Sure they have a sign that says "higher toll for larger vehicles" but nothing to indicate in any way that the toll will be hundreds of dollars. Then I googled and found you have to go to some website to see what the toll rate even is. Apparently for a semi truck its a class 10 vehicle (3 axles or more) and the toll is 10x the toll for cars? That is highway robbery, man.

Yes it is!!!! I came off of 495 onto I-66W and took the toll lane to US-29..... this was about 430 on a Friday and it costs $180 for an 6-7 mile run. I called and they couldnt even give me a toll calculator or justify how they charge that much because there are no signs stating how much per axle or mile or whatever the cost was!!

"It’s up to you whether to use the two-lane 66 Express Lanes or the three non-tolled general-purpose lanes of I-66." Big signs stating express lanes are TOLL
I go down to Newport News but only on loads that have time for congestion or allow me to go down after 11:00pm. Same coming back north. Do not like Baltimore/DC

Yeah they could put some sign up that says you're going to pay out the wazoo per axle. I could see maybe $100, sure. $316?

I wasn't even sure trucks were allowed until I saw some on the express lanes and saw an electronic sign that said trucks allowed. All while seeing signs that prohibit two axle vehicles pulling trailers.

Yeah. We get its tolled. That isn't the issue. The issue is not having any idea what the toll will be and getting a bill for hundreds of dollars. Unless of course you google after getting the bill, find where you do find the toll rate since they only publish that for trucks online apparently, but its too late by then when you've done been hit with the exorbitant toll charge. There isn't any reason they need 10x the toll amount for a semi truck.
