The first route is better..avoid dc at all possible

 

Yes…a no brainer..you’re going to have to start learning how to drive down these hwys in these states that have mountains and so forth if you’re going to drive a CMV…it’s part of the job.

 

I'd take 400 to US219, and pick up one of 2 or 3 routes south in PA......

 

I' rather drive mts than high traffic routes.

You're not avoiding mountains no matter what route you pick but I'd take 15-81-77-95. The WV route will be brutal on the truck when heavy. The entire beautiful state is all Appalachians.

 

I’m currently running the first route backwards up to Pittsburgh. Just left out of Bartow, FL, 10 minutes past Auburndale. This route isn’t as crazy as you’d think. I run tanker, just follow the road signs and watch your speed through central and southern WV. After Fancy Gap, it starts to smooth out. Happy I am empty now though
