New Idaho CDL A Driver jobs?

    There is no driver shortage. If anything, there are too many drivers for the freight that needs movement. Recruiters are likely swamped or reassigned so they don't communicate.

    If you can get on with a tanker outfit I would do it. While milk tanker isn't HazMat tanker, my favorite, it's better than dry van & reefer in regards to being treated like a human being versus being treated like a stray rabid skunk by customers. Tanker driving habits will also keep you safe whatever driving you do. You cannot drive like the average distracted driver & keep a job in tanker. You either drive safe or you are dead or unemployed. Idaho Milk was where I was going to work before I decided to retire. That was before KAG bought them. I don't know what it's like now. I was looking at their longer distance work & not going to farms.

    If bought & now owned by KAG -- it's likely that they will require at least 1 year of T/T experience....from elsewhere (just like all other KAG divisions).

    A former student at my school had tried to apply for them under the understanding that they did take new drivers, was turned away for lack of experience, and a call between the instructor and recruiter clarified that they at least sometimes do still hire new drivers as of a few weeks ago (this guy was just too young). I'm going to give them a closer look I think.

    The cold, hard truth -- most tanker gigs right now are just not hiring rookies.

    That's one reason I suggested Swift.

    Also: Swift is so big....& has so much freight -- if things get worse...it's more likely they will still have the freight to keep you moving (& thus, making money).

    That's one of the reasons I'm considering Doug Andrus since they seem to be hauling primarily unrefined food which I would assume is a bit more reliable under these conditions.

    Ultimately I'm not too picky about jobs as a new driver, but there's no sense in not trying to make the most of the endorsements I acquired early on if at all possible.

    I'm not positive but Andrus has a few divisions including ag and flatbeds. So that would be a good idea.

    Andrus does in fact also have a flatbed division, and they haul ag products.

    I’m not sure if they take new drivers, but you could call Arlo G Lott (AGL) in Jerome and ask. They have regional maxi flats, long haul flats, regional commodities, long haul commodities, and Canadian hopper doubles.

    WinCo Foods runs trucks out of their warehouse in Boise.

    Doug Andrus has long haul reefers, long haul flats, maxi flats, and hopper trains.
