In my R&L Drilling days we bought a 1970 Titan 90 with a National T6 crane on it. It had a 671N / 10 spd. We tried running it closer to home on some jobs, it was obvious we didn’t want to continue that path.

That’s when Roger bought the 97 & 98 379’s. We put the T6 crane on the 97 379, 550 Cat / 18 spd. That sure made a nice rig tender!! You can see the Pete behind Hooters in the pick with the drill on the far left. The 671 ran good but didn’t pull good for modern roads, not with a heavy load on it….

Probably in the mid to high 70's , as Fudpucker said . But when you're sporting a 1963 cracker box with. 6-71 and 10 speed it's like being in a old biplane and a SR-71 comes by.

I figured that’s what you were talking about lol. We had an old White Cabover with that setup on it at H&W Trucking. 250 Cummins / 10 speed. That was a weird setup. We used it mainly as a spotter back when we hauled tubs from Johnstown, Pa to Raceland, Ky for CSX. Raceland csx yard knocked the hopper doors off the bottom of the coal cars, then replaced them with the 2 round tubs you see on them today. With the tub bottoms they just turn the car over to empty them dropping the coal down on the conveyor….

Why you gonna take a tranq when you need to be awake for 4 days? Epinephrine was the key. Synthetic adrenaline
