Good question, some can’t leave good enough alone….

 

I use to be up for 3 days with those cross tops as you call them. Come home feel like my hair was full of ants. Take 3 to start, then 2 later on and I was tore up from the floor up and ready to ride. Never done any coke though…,

 

This 77 I drove at Machinery Hauling had the KT 1150 cui Cummins in it. Pop had 6” straights on it like all his other trucks, and the pump all jacked up. It was a stout truck. 13 spd with 3:90 cogs.

Rolling across Maryland one night and it started road walking every time I hit a bump. Found the frame broke between the rear spring shackle and the steering box, steering box was behind the shackle under the firewall. It was broke all across the bottom and up the side, only the top section of the frame was still in tact. It would pull against the drag link every time it sagged going over a bump causing the front wheels to slightly pull to the right. Got it welded in Massachusetts which held till I got almost in to WV again, had it welded again with a fish plate in Jane Lew. Often wonder what happened to all of Pop’s trucks….

 

I don't Know Anything about any of it ...Never done the Road Dope ...Lot of Coffee... Parked n Sleep 3 or 4 Hours after 16 or 20 Hours of Driving...
