Spoke to AGL earlier today. The recruiter was very pleasant but they also don't hire new drivers.
Already speaking to Doug Andrus, but it didn't occur to me to check with WinCo directly. I'll check them out, thank you.

See if JR Simplot is hiring any drivers.
Edit: also check Cedarpoint.tscottme, Cattleman84 and johndotsun Thank this. -
Yep that's who I run for... would highly recommend them... to anyone in the ID UT WY area. I've got over 600k miles with them in just over 5 years... could have more if I wanted, but I chose not to run that hard when my boys were younger.BlackjackCo, Sons Hero, tscottme and 3 others Thank this.

No not really other than it's alot different since the boys took it over. Lot of old timers have told me they liked it better when the old man was still running the show years ago.Sons Hero, lual and johndotsun Thank this.

That may be negotiable if you have some good solid experience. Have a friend that is probably getting hired on I the next couple weeks that only has about 18 months actual driving experience... but he knows his stuff and has over 200k miles under his belt already.johndotsun Thanks this.

Leonard's requires 6 months of OTR experience.tscottme Thanks this.
-
That's new then. Maybe changed hiring criteria because plenty of experienced drivers available to hire.johndotsun Thanks this.

Finally managed to get in touch with Swift.
They're actively hiring still, but under the following conditions:
Two day class in Lewiston, paid 300 dollars for that week.
Setup with a trainer, averages about 4 weeks paid at 650 a week.
Requires 4 months OTR before eligibility for dedicated or other specialty routes.
Claims 1 to 1.3k per week for new drivers he's started recently.
Says no iinterior facing cameras, which is a big motivating plus.
Not sure how that squares with recent articles like this though:
https://www.ccjdigital.com/technolo...nightswift-adding-new-dash-cams-to-15k-trucks
Would not give out further details on pay or mileage without a more firm expression of commitment.Last edited: Jun 4, 2025
lual Thanks this. -
OP, there is some good advice here. A smaller operation; in or near your area, to gain some actual experience. Best investment you could make.
Closer work, lesser pay but in time, you could get and keep the better pay, runs, and equipment. Men who own smaller successful operations are good judges of applicants by looking at them, not a list of name a recruiter lied in. I am old, and haven't been up in your area in 50 years.
But; what I am trying to convey to you, is be willing to crawl before you walk so you can run forever...BlackjackCo, Sons Hero, Cattleman84 and 1 other person Thank this. -
The article says the cameras are road facing. Nothing about driver facing cameras.johndotsun Thanks this.
