Make the call to Western or Covenant and ask them directly.

Fully describe your charges and convictions and go from there. If both say....nope. Dump truck and construction outfits are it then.

 

There are plenty of local places to use that license. Construction companies are always looking for laborers with a CDL.

 

Your problem isn’t that you have a felony. Your problem is that you have multiple felonies. Imo it shows that you’re a very slow learner.

Again, imo a mega isn’t going to take a chance on your bs. It’s easy enough to overlook one but 3 says a lot about your character.

Try one of the Bozo companies that won’t even bother running a criminal background check. Keep your mouth shut about it and see what happens.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding but there isn’t any demand for drivers right now. In your situation you should have tried getting pre hired before wasting money on CDL school.

 

Get your CDL, and put in an application any and everywhere. Some companies may tell you no, but one yes renders all those no's irrelevant. Let these companies tell you they don't want to hire you. If you gotta wait another year, it'll come and go. Apply to Maverick anyway. You've got nothing to lose.

 

The advantage those truckers may have is experience. When you're inexperienced and have blemishes, that creates a huge hurdle. I drive for a company that hires felons. We even have a guy that's on probation for robberies I believe, and he did some time. Currently on probation. He certainly isn't the only ex-felon. He has several years experience though, and the criminal/background check goes back only 3 years here. If you can get in the door, take whatever job you can get, it'll do you justice. Experience is the most valuable thing in this industry right now.
